George III Period Mahogany, Marquetry and Banded Sideboard of Serpentine Outline
George III period mahogany, marquetry and banded sideboard of serpentine outline. The undulating mahogany top with satinwood banding, above two deep drawers either side, with one shallow frieze drawer between. The deep drawers veneered in fields of flame mahogany, enclosed by cross banding and thistle motif marquetry at the corners. Drawers supported by square tapering legs, with ebony and boxwood stringing at the top, tapering to spade feet.
