A Pair of George III Period Wall Mirrors, in the Rococo Style
A pair of George III period wall mirrors, in the rococo style. The divided plates surrounded by palmette and scroll decoration, with strings of fruit and leaves to either side. One mirror is possibly later, with a paper label to the reverse for R. Watson, carver and gilder. The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers lists Ralph Watson as a carver and gilder working in Soho, London, to 1839.
