A serpentine chest of drawers is diagonally veneered in satinwood with a bombe front terminating in a pronounced apron with slightly splayed legs to the front. The top, which extends slightly beyond the body of the commode, conforms to the contour of the commode’s serpentine outline. The commode contains two long drawers, with the upper drawer with a key escutcheon. The apron section of the lower drawer is ornamented with a hand-finished cast bronze palmette mount derived from an original Regency period architectural motif.
The carcase is of farm-raised poplar; the drawer linings are of farm-raised white oak.
